ISA-RVCE student section, E&IE department, RVCE, Bengaluru, had organized a 1-day hands- on workshop on “Home Automation” on 13th October 2018. The workshop was intended for 1st and 2nd year students, of all branches of RVCE, to help them towards better understanding of the concepts involved in the process of “home automation and security”.
The workshop commenced with the welcome speech by Prof. S Venkatesh, Faculty advisor, followed by the inaugural speech by Dr. K N Subramanya, Principal, RVCE (refer photos below).

The workshop had around 38 participants from all departments.
The participants had to bring their laptops for programming and execution purpose. Groups of 3 students shared the kits consisting of Arduino Uno board, along with IR, PIR, Ultrasonic sensors, Bluetooth interface, etc., were provided by the ISA-RVCE student section organizers.
The students learnt about Arduino Uno architecture and programming along with interfacing (using their laptops) home automation sensors. The participants also learnt about Bluetooth interfacing with their laptops. They also became confident of controlling the devices using their mobile phones.
Participation certificates were issued to all the participants of the workshop.
